Country Garden Stitchery
About the Designer

How did I become interested in cross stitching? I LOVE to make things.  Having a project, or projects, going at all times has become a necessity in my life. It keeps the "busyness" of life at bay and brings me back to center. I have tried many crafts, but none have captured my attention quite like cross stitch.

I began cross stitching when my children were tiny and I would stitch while they took naps and at night time. I started stitching on stamped fabric as I wasn't confident to do counted cross stitch yet!    I also discovered I enjoyed drawing about the same time. My husband and I would take the kids out into the desert to explore and I would draw the old rock houses, old structures, old gnarly trees and whatever else I could find. I decided to try my hand at designing my own patterns, putting my drawing interest with the cross stitch interest.

My business didn't begin at a certain time, it has gradually evolved into what it is today. I've learned a lot about myself in the process and it has been a wonderful and exciting experience seeing it come together . My husband and children have been with me every step of the way with encouragement and support and I am very thankful for them. I look forward to many more fun years of designing and stitching.
